Many Things are NOT as Good in Mexico But it's Better Than the Tragedy We Left Behind

The Roads. I've talked about the roads before. From unmarked speed bumps that can

launch a car airborne, to potholes big enough to bathe a baby in, the roads different here! You get used to it but yeah, streets and roads and sidewalks are better in the US. Consumerism. Americans are the Kings & Queens of consumerism. Whatever you want, in whatever shape, size or color, you can buy it in the USA. Not so much here. I mean, we have huge Costco's, HEB (American grocery stores), Chanel & Rolex but lots of things are

just not a readily available in the variety they are in the USA. While most things are the same price or much less expensive (not "cheaper" which implies poorer quality - less expensive for the exact same products), some things are more expensive and harder to get. Tennis balls are $8 for a 3 pack! (they were $3 when we left). American whiskey has skyrocketed in retaliation to Gordo Cheto's (Mexican slang for Trump - referencing Cheeto's) tariffs but I'm a Scotch guy so I'll just wait for relatives to bring me the occasional Michter's 10 year old bourbon.
Chiropractors. I'm a BIG fan of Chiropractic maintenance. I went from a chronic bad back to a perfect posture, thanks to chiropractic care. But Chiropractic Care is the only health care that originated in the USA (Iowa's claim to fame is BJ Palmer - the OG adjuster). We had to shop several doc's who were just plain bad, to find one who is pretty good. He's not as good as the best ones I had in the US but comparable to the average docs there - which means he's the best in the city, here. "Standard" Appliances. If you're in the poorest neighborhood in CA, AZ or TX, your

apartment will be guaranteed to have two things: an Air Conditioner and a Dishwasher. We live in the richest neighborhood in the city and we had to negotiate to have two AC units put in. It's just not a standard item here (but the weather rarely gets above the mid-80's). When we got here, we discovered that the penthouse does NOT have a dishwasher! None of them do! You know what they ALL have instead? A Maid's Quarters. It's expected that you'll have a live in maid because they're so affordable. Been there, done that. We're too private for a live in so we get to do dishes (and by "we" I mean, well you know..)
Public Toilets. They still have pay toilets in the older part of town! So be prepared and have change with you.
We tried thinking of other things but nothing came to mind. It's MUCH better here! The
people are so much warmer and friendlier. It's much safer in every city except Mexico City - which is still statistically safer than St. Louis, Memphis and New Orleans. But the rest of the cities are way safer, never have mass murders and don't have masked Big Government Thugs assaulting legal residents and citizens for purely political reasons. Yet there are Americans so stupid, they can't connect the dots are to why cities like Memphis, which has WAY higher violent crime, aren't targeted for political assault to "protect them". This is why

the old phrase "ignorant American" is so accurate nowadays. It's sad watching the decline of the US Empire happen before our eyes. I loved what my country used to be and hate what the tyrant is turning it into. The economic disaster that Trump's policies and insane trade wars are creating will be irreversible. He's the laughingstock of the world and openly mocked with Fat Baby Trump Balloons and 50' tall pictures of Trump with Epstein, everywhere he goes. He's turned the USA into a "shithole country" that literally no one in any modern country would want to move to - or even visit nowadays. Now that I have publicly criticized Trump, I sure wouldn't! Remember that Canadian Actress named Jasmine Mooney who was a critic of Trump? She was abducted by his new Gestapo (ICE) thrown in a jail cell with no bed, forced to strip naked for the entertainment of the guards and staff and left there for TWO WEEKS before she was released. THAT is the atrocity that is the USA now.

In the meantime, our President Sheinbaum is doing what every world leader is doing -
making deals with Canada, China and Europe, to ensure the USA is not longer relevant. No one trusts a man who has openly stated he'll shit on 100 year-old treaties made on The Word of the USA. The word of the USA has no honor and is meaningless now.
And it's just going to get worse. Over 300 items from Project 2025 have been implemented so far and the Mindless MAGA

Cult still claims P2025 doesn't exist. THAT is how willfully ignorant and brainwashed they are. Sunken Cost Fallacy. They created this mess and they're so invested in it, they can't admit anything is wrong, now.
Yes, there are some things here that aren't as good as they USED to be in the USA. But we're glad we decided to leave the moment the Fat Fascist was elected, and managed to get out in January before he started his ascent to authoritarian dictatorship. And although we're incredibly grateful, it's sad watching the USA go down the drain.
