Our Lives Haven't Changed One Little Bit Except...

The Ten Square Mile Theory I have this theory about the quality of life. Most people spend 90% within a 10 square mile radius (unless they have a long commute or something). The quality of your life, can largely be measured by the quality of the ten square miles in which you live. Not the expense of that ten square miles - I know plenty of rich people who are f*cking miserable. The quality e.g. When I lived in San Diego / Tijuana part time, I had great friends, great beaches and great times! And now? Now we have a much better ten miles than we did in Texas and one that is comparable to how we lived in Vegas. We have a beautiful penthouse in a completely safe neighborhood. We work from home like we have for years - Pro-Tip: Get a VPN (Virtual Private Network) with an IP address from the US, if you don't want to go into spam folders a lot! We go to a country club that's bigger and nicer than the one we belonged to in Texas, and play tennis almost every day with the dozens of new friends we've made there. They all hug us and the women all kiss our cheek on site and upon departure, so that's a bit different.

We drive a nice new car (okay it's Chinese, so that's different!). Out of 21 meals a week, we eat 4 or 5 that are Mexican food so that's the same. Otherwise, it's burgers, sushi, Italian, pizza etc. just like in the US - except the food is a LOT healthier here. We go to Costco, HEB and the malls whenever Maria feels like it (My car has Netflix, Prime etc. so I don't mind!) We moved here last January, after Orange Hitler took power and our lives really aren't that different at all. I mean, other than watching the disasters with no federal relief, the plane crashes, and the dictator put the military and Gestapo into cities, to abduct hard-working men, and innocent women and children, and put them in concentration camps with no showers etc - which breaks our hearts. The cruelty that the US has embraced with stain it forever. At least we don't have to see it firsthand. Well, we can't change that, so we're making the best we can, of our lives here. So what's the biggest difference? My Spanish has really improved!
